What to Consider when Commissioning a work?

On receipt of your enquiry, I will discuss with you the best style and size for the subject – but the final choice will be yours.

I will work on photos supplied by you, providing the basic reference material is good.

Backgrounds and poses may be altered. For reasons of copyright the photos must be your own. If you are unable to supply suitable photos I am willing to travel within 100 miles of Chester to take them myself. Travel costs will be 25p per mile on the total mileage covered, and will be added to the cost of the commission. Such a visit (especially for horses) will at all times be subject to the vagaries of the British weather!

Once a subject is agreed I will be able to give you a fixed price and a timetable and approximate finishing date. A non-refundable deposit of 50% is payable with your order. You may pay by personal cheque or PAYPAL.

       On Completion.

On completion a photo or jpeg image of the work will be sent to you to ensure you are happy with the finished result. Once you have confirmed your approval, the balance of payment becomes due. When this is received your painting will be delivered to you or sent securely packed, and despatched to you in a safe and appropriate manner.

No paintings are sent framed as the frame needs to be chosen by you to key the painting to its new surroundings. This is a very personal choice.

At all times the copyright of the painting is retained by the artist and the image may not be reproduced without permission.
