With my wildlife paintings, I have two approaches. Some are painted in a realistic style while in others I attempt to get away from realism and paint the animals in an expressionistic manner. At all times I endeavour to capture the essence of the animal, be it beauty, grace, vulnerability, power, strength or menace.
